Montego Bay Dining
  • Hilltop Dining with a view - Try Julia's Italian (876.952.1772) for great Italian food with panoramic views of the bay from 800 feet up the mountain. Or try Calabash (876.952.3891), a private villa built in the 1920s, this restaurant is perched at the 500 foot level and has served many celebrities and guests who come for great food and spectacular views of sunsets and twinkling city lights.
  • Plantation style - Day-O-Plantation Resort (876.952.1825), a great house restored by a local Jamaican musician who has turned the estate into an elegant dining establishment.   • Dining in an old sugar mill - The Sugar Mill Restaurant is a beautifully restored sugar mill located on the golf course at Half Moon Bay and it makes for an unforgettable dining experience. Jamaican and international dishes are prepared by an Austrian chef while you enjoy terrace views of the course and ocean. Romantic couples should try to reserve a private spot near the waterfall.   • Dine in a 300-year-old building - The Townhouse specializes in Jamaican dishes -- especially curried dishes -- and steaks. This brick building is fun and funky with an outdoor terrace and an eclectic brick-walled dining area filled with artwork. (876.952.2660)
  • Wharfside - Norma's at the Wharfhouse is one of the favorite places in Montego Bay for seafood. Enjoy a drink at the saloon filled with antiques, or savor the finest seafood inside this 300-year-old warehouse building. Menu changes daily. Closed Monday - Wednesday. (876.979.2745)
  • Jerk favorites - The Pork Pit (876.952.1046), the Jerk Center, and Smokey Joe's are all favorite spots for locals and tourists alike to get some of the best jerk food in the area.
Ocho Rios Dining
  • Chinese and Jerk Pork - It's called The Lobsterpot, but don't let the name fool you. GREAT Chinese food and jerk pork.
  • Cliffside Dining with a view - Almond Tree Restaurant (876.974.2813) is one of THE places to go for a great dinner with ambiance and fresh sea breezes. Restaurant is built on two tiers featuring a tree growing up through the roof. Bar is famous for its "swinging chairs" hooked to the ceiling.
  • Sunset Italiano style - Evitas Italian Restaurant (876.974.2333) is a fabulous Italian restaurant that also sits on cliffs and is a favorite gathering place for sunset drinks to be followed by some of the best pasta dishes on the island.
  • Table by the waterfall - The Ruins Restaurant (876.974.2442) is situated on the site of a sugar mill that is now in ruins. Restaurant incorporates nature with terraces leading down to the waterfall. Terraced area has beautiful view of the bay. International and Chinese cuisine.
Dining in Negril
  • Cliffside Dining and Diving - Rick's Cafe (876.957.4335) is located on the West End Road and is the "trendy" place to see and be seen. Dine cliffside and catch the sunset. Plus you can watch the cliffdivers or join in yourself in a kind of "diving and dining" experience. This is a happening place and can be expensive.
  • Sunset Dinner - Negril Treehouse Restaurant (876.957.4287) boasts a beachfront bar ideal for sunsets. Stay the evening for some fantastic dinner selections including Jamaican soups, roasted chicken, and conch steaks.
  • Rasta Pasta - The Paradise Yard (876.957.4006) is a simple and relaxing restaurant which also happens to be the creator of "Rasta Pasta." The tri-colored pastas are based on the colors of the Jamaican flag. This is also an excellent place for curried chicken, lobster and other Jamaican favorites.
  • Local favorite - Cosmo's Seafood Restaurant and Bar (876.957.4330) is a favorite haunt of locals and tourists alike. This rustic establishment has some of the best prices in town for seafood, conch soup, and curried goat.
  • Jerk-to-go - Negril Jerk Center (876.957.4874) is located near the center of town. Everyone seems to stop here to get a wide variety of Jerk choices "to go." There are some tables if you wish to kick back and savor some local life.
